Beat fags with batons!

On March 6, 2007 the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor of the US Department of State released its 2006 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices. This is not a specialized report on gay rights, but deals with human rights in general. However, the LPR’s anti-gay crusade is mentioned as follows:

Prior to the equality parade [Polish name for "Gay Pride"], a Sejm member and prominent member of the Catholic League of Polish Families, Wojciech Wierzejski, criticized the event in remarks before the Sejm, describing gays as “deviants” and stating that, when the parade begins, marchers “should be beaten with batons.”

Unfortunately, the reports does not cite other famous quotes of Mr Wierzejski. Here they are:

They [foreign politicians attending a gay march] should be beaten with batons too. Once they feel the pain they won’t come again because gays are by definition cowards. (“Gazeta Wyborcza”, May 11th, 2006)

It is widely known, that the homosexual community’s agenda is to propagate deviant attitudes among youth, and – what is worse – they are connected to a world of quasi-criminal circles including those of pedophilic character. … I would like to ask you if you know: how strong are connections between these [homosexual] organizations and pedophile circles and the organized world of drug mafias; what are the legal and illegal sources of financing of these organizations; what is the extent of these organizations’ penetration into Polish schools. (in a letter addressed to the Minister of Interior and Administration Ludwik Dorn and the Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro, urging them to investigate gay and lesbian organizations and those who supported them, May 16th, 2006)
